This object is an exploration of the detail's role in architecture’s current post-digital culture. Building upon Marco Frascari's writing, The Tell-the-Tale, this object uses high-resolution 3D scans of material details from works by Carlo Scarpa. Arrested from their site, these scanned details were then compounded and aggregated together, removing the spatial distance or physical relationship each possesses in situ. The texture-mapped and digitally generate connections between the scans were then extracted as territory for a new tectonic logic. Treating texture maps, mesh geometry, and physical material equally the project envisions a new series of tectonic parts derived from various digital information. Finally, the initial historic scanned details were rejoined into a new post-digital compound detail.
